We have been working with Orkla Health for over 20 years now and Orkla have worked with Phoenix since its inception. We continue to be their UK logistics provider of choice today.
Orkla Health (formerly Axellus & Peter Moller’s) were buying retail packed OTC pharmaceuticals from several suppliers in the UK and were looking for a reliable, cost effective means of consolidating individual orders to ship bi-weekly to Norway. Up until this point, Orkla were receiving individual orders direct from suppliers. Not only was this expensive, but control of the supply chain, was often compromised.
In co-operation with Orkla, the Phoenix team created a consolidation platform at their warehouse and upon request, arranged collections from all UK suppliers. All orders were consolidated and once enough product was in place (to maximise a full load) an appropriate 40ft vehicle was loaded and despatched direct to Oslo. Temperature controlled, heated vehicles and/or thermal blankets are all supplied by us at the request of Orkla in response to climatic conditions.
Not only has the product price per unit drastically reduced, but total control of the supply chain was achieved. The whole process is backed up with a comprehensive set of agreed KPI’s delivered during regular review meetings.
